Nice! I will "borrow" the song names for doing a playlist in Hoot :)

Oh cool! Can you make this game's music play in Hoot? I know there's a PC-98 (or was it FM Towns?) version of this game, but I haven't been able to find it anywhere.

I should be able to play this music in Hoot since it is just XMI files...right? I am sure i once extracted the files but i can't find them right now.

Well, to make the .XMI files play correctly, you need the sound driver files that come with the game. I have the .XMI files if you want them. There's 3 different types of .XMI files though; PC Speaker, AdLib, and Roland MT-32. I find it easier just to play them back in Midpak, but if you can get them running in Hoot that would be really cool!

Yes i know how XMI works , i have made many playlists in Hoot using existing XMI driver :) For example Dune 2.

Maybe you could send me the EOB3 files... i can't find the ones i ripped, i used "westpack" or whatever it was called to extract the files... i guess the files are on my old WinXP PC.

Westpack? I've been looking for a program to open .RES files since Life & Death II has a sound .res file.
Also, I found the .XMI files on VGMPF. Let me know if it has all 3 versions.

http://www.vgmpf.com/Wiki/index.php?tit ... nnor_(DOS)

I think I remember that program 'Extractor' but I can't find it anywhere now.

The ZIP at vgmpf is missing the instrument file for Adlib music.

I found the program i mentioned earlier... "westpak2" http://sourceforge.net/projects/westpak2/ i think it was that program i used to rip the files.

I'll just archive the MIDPAK player and send it to you since it's easier. This includes the sound driver files and the AdLib XMI tunes.

Thanks for the link! I'll check it out.

It seems westpak2 did not work with EOB3

Anyway i did a playlist for Hoot using the files from vgmpf... and your song names (in same order) :)
EOB3 claim support for SC-55 also but in LA-mode only, i don't know if EOB3 sends sysex that puts it in LA-mode though? I never did a special SC-55 playlist in Hoot though... only for ALib, MT-32, MT-32 emulation and PC Speaker.
You can downlaod it here: http://www.ym2149.com/temp/eob3_at.zip

The vgmpf archive might have switched "eye_00039.xmi" and "eye_00037.xmi" though... i switched them back, those were the Adlib and MT-32 files and sounded much better when i changed them, i havent checked the other much, the playlist is made with trust to the vgmpf archive

**edit.... oh, and the playlist should not be in the westwood.xml since it is not an westwood game but thats something a will adjust later someday :D

Thanks for the file! Unfortunately, I couldn't find the game in Hoot (I put the .zip in the roms directory).

Also yeah, Westwood didn't develop Eye of the Beholder III, SSI did (At the time, Westwood was working on the much superior Lands of Lore.)

I'm also having a problem with Eye of the Beholder II. There are .ADL files, but I can't seem to get them to play in any program.

You need to edit the "hoot.xml" to load westwood.xml...and also delete the hoot.nc file.

Hoot can play the ADL files for EOB1, EOB2 and Dune 2... i could send the files if you want.

Please send me the files, I'd really appreciate it!

I looked in the .XML file and I saw "<list>xml/westwood.xml</list>" in there. I don't know if that's loading it though. :P

There was already a westwood.xml in the XML folder. I deleted the .NC file but it still doesn't show up in the program. Sorry, I'm not familiar with this program. To be honest, I don't even know how I got the program to work in the first place. :P

I looked in the .xml file but I only see two "The Legend of Kyrandia" games in there. I don't know how to add any games though.
