Chip Number for QSound?

Post by snakemeat »

Anyone know the chip number for the QSound chips in the CPS/CPS2 games? Trying to find it online, but no luck. I'm not sure if they used the QXpander or some other chip used only in those PCBs. Any help appreciated.

In some MAME drivers (cps1.c, cps2.c & zn.c) there is some PCB drawed in ASCII, along with ICs numbers and locations. It probally has the QSound number, and revision. Good luck.

Perfect, thanks! Looks like CPS2 has some part numbers worth investigating.

For future reference, it appears that the chip part number is: DL-1425 - CAPCOM-Q1 QSound Processor, DSP-16A (C) 92 AT&T. It's a PLCC84 chip.
