Arcade soundtracks in Audio Overload? (Mac users)

Post by FGM »

Hi everyone,

Has anyone had any luck getting the arcade .vgz soundtracks to work in Audio Overload? As a Mac user, I can’t think of any other application that even supports the format, aside from maybe Game Music Box, which has the same issue—it recognizes the format and will add it to the playlist, but when I hit play, it streams silence. I tried Vox, which also supports vgz, but get the same issue, silence...

This may be an issue already addressed here, but I wasn’t able to find anything in the threads. Anyone have a clue?

Audio Overload hasn't updated its VGM support in a long time. On a Mac, Kode54's mod of Cog handles most newer VGM files, but has a couple of issues like missing OKIM6258 support. Basically, Cog and foo_gep share the same file support and issues.

Thanks so much neologix. I downloaded Cog and it seems to function pretty well.

VGM definitely needs better mac support. We need a mac developer to help with that.
