SPC 2 MIDI / .SF2

Post by 1983parrothead »

I noticed that some tools seem to dislike me using them, such as VGM Toolbox and VGMTrans.

I also heard there is a limited number of supported SNES titles for MIDI / .SF2 ripping.

Taito ones aren't listed, and I'd like to extract the soundfont of Sonic Blast Man II for SNES.

Any suggestions?

You can extract all of the samples from SNES games using Snessor, but none of the samples have their loop points attached. I prefer using SPC2IT for getting samples since their loop points are attached, but you need something like OpenMPT to open Impulse Tracker files and save their samples. Also, SPC2IT only gives you the samples used in an SPC file, instead of every sample in a game.

Aren't you a member of HG101, or am I thinking of someone else?

Of course. I am there at HG101.

And what's with the .IT files?

I don't understand your question about .IT files.

What are they for? Are they equal to .sf2 files?

They're tracker modules. Contains samples and song data in one format.

Someone really should make a new version with proper panning so it don't waste too many channels! :P
Until next post...
