Atari 5200 The Atari 5200 MESS System Driver a5200 was the successor of the successful Atari 2600, released by Atari Inc. at 1982 in USA. The console was based on the architecture of the first line of Atari 8-bit computers, the Atari 400/800, but with in a different way to handle the inputs. The console was aimed to take down the Colecovision sales, and it did take the Colecovision, the Intellivision, the Vectrex and the 5200 sales it self to the PC Booters and the Commodore 64, which was happened the Crash of the Video Games in 1984; leaving all of these consoles to sunk down into the water. The video game era don't was the same in the Second Generation, until the Nintendo Entertainment System was released.
