Looking at the Win32 98FMPlayer source code I came across a file format that the player refers to as "PLAY6". From what I see it seems to
be a variant of PC98's "FMP" format that replaces the "FMC" id with "ELF".
I could not find any music files in that format nor any information on the format itself. (maybe it is just some game dev's patched FMP version?)
Please let me know if you have any information on this.
what is PLAY6?
Technical discussion which is not directly related to VGM files. Talk about Hardware and Software.

Re: what is PLAY6?
AFAIK it is the variant of FMP that is used by Kono Yo no Hate de Koi wo Utau Shoujo YU-NO.
According to https://kurohane.net/gmpv4/driver_play6.html, YU-NO is the only game that uses this sound driver.

Re: what is PLAY6?
It seems to be a variant that stands between version 1 and 2 of the FMP format: 6xFM, 3xSSG + 1xRHYTHM! I managed to rip a few of the music files from memory via the DOSBOX-X debugger and my player now seems to play these fine.
Since I don't know how to extract the stuff directly from the game's data files I unfortunately don't have a full set. If somebody knows where to find (or extract) all those music files, plz let me know.
