Extracting music from Saturn game "Shiroki Majo" (T-14322G)

Post by VGMfreak »

Hi all,
I would like to extract the sequenced music from the Sega Saturn game "Shiroki Majo - Mouhitotsu no Eiyuu Densetsu" (T-14322G) (English title: "Legend of Heroes 3 ~Prophecy of the Moonlight Witch~").
The SSF ripping method by kingshriek has been tried but returned with no sequence data found in any of the ".dat" or ".bin" files of the game's "SND" folder. In addition, "SDDRVS.TSK" version 2.20 is the sound driver.
Could anyone please confirm if this title's music could be ripped to SSF? Thanks in advance.

Try vgmtoolbox.
Extraction of the sequence data and the tone data, and can be created of SSF.

Because is large number of songs, I do not rip.

Hi 2ch-H,
Thanks for confirming that vgmtoolbox works. I have tried it too but it returned a "no data found" result. Are there parameters that need to be specified for this title?

Python is installed? Version seems to work in 2.x.x, Version 3.x.x in my environment, the script did not work.
Contains a sequence and tone data in the MUS***.DAT.

Python 3.4.2 is in my current environment, will try with Python 2.x.x soon.

UPDATE: I am stumped at the moment, changed Python to 2.2.2 and the scripts ran but vgmtoolbox did not output any file at all. Can you please provide a tutorial on how you created the SSF for "MUS001.dat"?
