Searching for the Hibabango
Hello. I was looking at 3 Dempa ported games, Bosconian, Space Harrier and After Burner II. Each of these contain the word 'Hibabango'. This word haunts me and its meaning eludes me. Bosconian contains the track 'Space Hibabango'. Space Harrier and After Burner II contain the string: ORIGINAL MUSIC ... BATTLE OF HIBABANGO USO ... BY YU_YOU. I assume it's an extra song that is not available in the sound test, but which is on the floppy images for those two games. YU_YOU also appears on the sound test screen for Space Harrier. I am just going to assume it's one of the Dempa staff. I am unable, however, to find the song or the meaning of its title. Does anybody know anything about this? Thanks.
inside joke? Hideya Nagata went by Yu-You when he was posting comedy stuff in the BASIC magazine newspaper thing. (see https://ja.wikipedia.org/wiki/マイコンBASICマガジン)

Apparently it's an enemy from Dragon Quest II http://dragonquest.wikia.com/wiki/Brainy_badboon

Thanks, I guess I'd have to look at the timeline.
Anyway, the BATTLE OF HIBABANGO appears in the After Burner II only because a version of the Space Harrier executable was included. I suspect it was an updated version. Again, I'll have to check the timeline.
I wonder if the song can be extracted and played though. Since I've discovered that it's specific to Space Harrier, it's probably in the same music format as the rest of the songs.
