as i say before - some games require individual access to change music. like MK3 or WWF Arcade how it names... they have additional sequences and samples banks. but now i want to talk about
Zero Tolerance. GEMS sequences have only melodies data. no sfx. but game have a million woman voice samples - shotgun collected and etc. and sound of steps... and etc FM sfx sounds. so this data lays inside special table and calls from it, not from GEMS sequences bank as usual. so standart GEMS switcher method will not work for this case.
so i try to make some special version of GEMS switcher for ZT. it have samples table, this sound table where all sound calls. it save original GEMS data with sfx and melody and for add some melody - just need to add some new GEMS slot, add into it melodie and set this new number inside of table. like this - i set 10 melodie number inside of intro and melodie for first level:

but what if i want to change samples? unfortunately almost every slots of GEMS samples bank is already bussy. it can be 95, or 96 for sure samples (because samples calls as notes and notes can be from 0 to $5F). so game have only 3 free slots. next - phrases is recorded not as one long samples - "shotgun collected". but as two samples "shotgun" and "collected". it was made for save memory space for cartridge. and some samples use multiple times. so it means somewhere should be another table with this phrase construction... and it is! and i am add it into editor. that constructor can set timer, until that word is talking and sample number, which should be talking. it is event editor. it have some presets like: getting armor, or getting medikit and what phrases should be over screen and what order and timers of samples should be spoken.

and if that event have some item - like pistol - item, that have icons - you can see icon and change it. by copy image from paint for example.
now you probably start to suspect what happen here

this tool need to make translate of sound for ZT for your local languages

like my case - russian. i am see many russian text translates, but no any russian sound. so i decide to make it. i am didnt search some france or italian or any another language, but i think they have only text translation too. so if you want to try to make translate - just do it! just need to catch some girl, rope and tape her... i mean record her voice. use that three remain slots wisely! for example my language have different man or woman role for some words. you have shotgun collected and armor collected with one word - collected. for my language shotgun - man's role, armor - woman's. it have some different in this word "collected". so maybe your local languages have some same unic too. this event editor will help with it.
for record sample, actually for import sample - you can use samples editor (right button on sample what you need in a table at left part)

it have three variants of import - "as is" - when you use some sound editor and save sample inside of it as 10.4khz, mono, 8bit, PCM. or can be encode with bass.dll by setting path to high quality short wav sample and same for SOX variant. as you can see only bass variant have equaliser. SOX have only normalisation and disable dithering. bass no have enabled dithering - so it no need to disable. every change of equalizer will need to encode sample by ^ button near bass. it will encode original high quality sample to our low quality and show with grafic window, where you can cut some left or right borders and save. dont loock at record button - it works only for Windows XP, where stereo mix is enabled by driver of sound card. almost every Windows 7 cases no have this stereo mix. bass equaliser lines can be edited. just drug n drop over frequency value on a window and move mouse left or right - it will change frequency by 10 hz step.
and arhive have only russian variant of rom. but you can easy to change original asm file to your one. but i think i am forgot to make fonts editor too... but i think you already have your local language translated rom, where no need to change names of items or location names. just need to localise sound.
and this arhive have some another tool - tyles kickouter - to edit screens. it need to edit phrase deseased over dead characters when you select new one. it have import and export options. just need to check special ZT cases - no pal and ZT 40 switchers... if that screen was not translated for your rom.

by healthy variant (with moving data to up) i am do only once - with MK3... and i think it will anyway have some problem with BSOD somewhere in a game... not hard tested it. but about MK3 it is another story. maybe somewhen next time...
