MDX -> VGM conversion?

Post by RichterEX2 »

In the future, could there be some way to convert x68000's MDX files into VGM? Mainly for the sake of having better tagging.

Do you know where I can find a file format reference?
Then we can talk about it. ;)

I....think I found it? It's all in Japanese, but it looks like it has a lot of info on the MML used in MDX.

Hello Guy !

may be the solution ??

http://soundshock.se/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=332 MDXPG.exe
http://www.geocities.jp/sam_kb/VOPM/MDXPG/index.html MDXPG.zip

:MDXPG.exe & MDXPG2.exe for example : *.mdx to *. mid

after that use 'mid2vgm Converter'

I'm sure I'd lose a lot of important data if I used that method. Especially the PCM data that's contained in a separate PDX file.

You can drag-and-drop a MDX file on the Hoot. If you has the required plugins + S98 logging enabled, you can convert to s982 VGM tool made by tails_. But keep in mind that you cannot convert a one that use PCM.

Concerning MDX player : what do you think of GORRY's MXDRV ? It' s very interresting
http://gorry.haun.org/mx/index_e.html

Note : There is executable binary and source files of "mxdrv"(sequencer) and "mxp"(player) in this package -> So a VGM logger for this tool, it's possible ? No... ?

Bye !
