ZXTune - Chiptunes player

Post by Vitamin »

Hello to all!

I'm proudly glad to present you my project - free crossplatform chiptunes player. I'm developing it for several years (more than 11 to be precise), but two significant changes made last time. First, project is now using libvgm as a playback engine for vgm files (kudos to Valley Bell, vgmplay is unreally awful...). Last (but not least) - version for android now supports vgmrips.net as one of the online sources, including genuine grouping and random tracks stream.

Give a try. Project is still in development, so welcome to ask your questions, report about bugs and complaint about problems.

Glad you got coverage on the Wiki for this fantastic player. As far as I can tell, it's the best option for Linux to play VGM files, so you should get more recognition for this IMO. Automatically reads zip files, which is how albums are downloaded from VGMrips.com, it's perfect.

I'm really desperately wanting for this to support global hot keys. Right now ZX Tune doesn't respond to the media keys play/pause, next, prev, etc. It's a pain having to task switch to the app to pause it when a phone call comes in when my media keys are right there on my keyboard.

Is there any chance of ZX Tune supporting media keys or hotkey binding?
