This soundtrack is pretty significant- it's the compositional debut of Akira and PANDA on PC, and they sure hit the ground running on this one. Fairytale's music had never felt this sophisticated and moody, and this high standard will be here to stay for a while.

That said, this specific version of the soundtrack stands out from the rest as sounding particularly lush, and that's because none other than Ryu Takami debuts to handle the arrangements here! He has the rare honor of besting Akira and PANDA in their sound design, a feat that they won't let happen to them again. A certain Masami Yitsuse also helped out with the arrangements, and he'll go on to do some great stuff as well.

Found some uploads of this on YT, and why is it so different?

On YT, the tempo is slower, the percussion is simpler, and there are serious errors in the instruments starting around 1:00.

Some of these seem pretty specific, could you link to the videos and point out which songs you're noticing this in?

Oh, you're referring to the Ending song.

The instrument error at 1:00 only appears if you play that song without playing any of the other songs in the sound driver. If you play the song in-game (for example, letting the ending cutscene before the credits play through), the song will sound like it does in the VGM rip.
