Thank You Dekyo-NO!
I think I can play with a pmdplay player on both Windows and Linux a Firecracker Music Collections, but since I cannot find this Collection Vol. 1 I really appreciate Your logging work.
Please continue.
Happy August!

What's that Firecracker Music Collection you're playing? These first volumes doesn't use PMD, they use a kind of BASIC MML (N88?).

Later volumes use the PMD88, but sadly these are not played by MESS (even not in the latest MAME). I thought that I could play them by adding the PMD88 data to the PMD88 D88 disk but I don't know how to use that PMD88 disk. You can find it here.

There were 13 volumes for the PC-98, but AFAIK no one has dumped these...

Oh, right. Sadly, they won't play correctly in FMPMD due to missing ADPCM data. The early FC OPNA disks use a variant of the CLMPCM2.PPC kit, but I don't know how to get the data correctly. And I mean getting the individual samples from FC88V23 (well, in this case) to make a PPC kit, load and play them in Neko Project, for VGM logging.

In the sets for the hoot music player, there are two files related to the samples. A file called ADPCM (without extension) which is the raw ADPCM data, has no information about each sample's start and length, and "PCMTBL", don't know what's its purpose.

Thank You for sharing Your information.
Indeed I've got firecracker archives from snesmusic.org/hoot/v2/ site. What I did is selecting ADPCM for .PPC file with a custom option of PMD player. Isn't it all that it must be done?
Giangiacomo

P.S. You caused me recheck my assumption, and it is false that every ADPCM file of firecracker archives is formatted like a `ADPCM Data for PDM ver.4.4` PPC file.

I thought that as well, because loading CMLPCM2.PPC in FMPMD will cause that almost all of the FC88VA plays correctly, but DATA01 from FC88V23 will not play correctly because there's a long sample that's not present in the CMLPCM2.PPC file.

Maybe I should ask for help but eheh. I really want these disks to be VGM'd.

@ Dekyo-NO
I made a translator from ADPCM and PCMTBL files of these FireCracker compilations to later PMD version 4.4 and following .PPC format.
It is useful only for those FireCracker compilations that do not come with a PMD version 4.4 and following .PPC formatted ADPCM file.

It works for me.
Here the C language source file.

Thanks @lo zaffo for your help! I'll compile this and see what happens.

BTW, new update: Fix "Gradios II" typo in the tracks. Yeah, that's very embarrassing but well.
