VGM Players list in the front page

Post by ctr »

Droidsound has been discontinued, I think we should replace it with ZXTune as it is the remaining VGM player for Android (also multi-platform).

There is also foobar2000 for Android, which has VGMPlay baked-in and is what I use. I couldn't see any mention of this on the wiki either, curiously.

ZXTune nor f2k can play many of the formats Droidsound-E can.

C64 .sid
MSX .mgs
PC .mid
PC98 .s98
X68K .mdx

none of the vgmstream formats for Dreamcast PS1 PS2 PSP etc.

.it player in f2k doesn't let you select interpolation.

Despite the GPL violations, it worked. In the end the user really only cares about playing the vgm formats.

Sure, but this site is about .VGM files, and I really don't think we should promote a GPL-violating VGM player.

ZXTune is actively developed and I don't think the author would say no to adding those formats if someone asked.

I personally use this one: https://play.google.com/store/apps/deta ... .vgmplayer

It's not bad despite the fact that it doesn't have a "stop" button.
Also known as nineko.

This is untrue for 40% - sid and s98 are supported.

How does this connected to vgm playback vgmrips is dedicated to?

?

BTW, some of the streamed PS1/PS2/PSP/etc formats are already supported and vgmstream integration is in progress.
