Make sure you use the latest M1 roms, or rename the files in zips from hoot.joshw.info to match the xml.
I'm sure there were rom renames for all NeoGeo sets, from 268-v1.rom to 268-v1.v1.
Hoot can't load by CRC, so you need to have the filenames *match* the xml. I will upload updated roms some other time.

There is a possibility of creating a .diff file and apply / patch on the Hoot.exe?

You want someone to edit binary to add VGM logging support? Sounds unreal to me.

There are patching tools for binaries, but yeah, patching a binary is not a realistic way to add VGM support.

Hi, so can anyone help me load music from for example the Moonwalker arcade rom into Hoot? I have the latest 2016 version and a 2015 version, with ini updates. I can load stuff from hoot archive and mdx files, but this doesn't seem to work.

What I want to do is rip YM3438 instruments for use with Deflemask.

Putting the .zip from the MAME romset in the "roms" directory works for me. If they aren't recognized, try the roms from joshw's site...

Doesn't work either unfortunately. Only PC-98 stuff works.

Then your XML files might be out of date. Can't really think of any other explanation.

Hello guys !

I seek information, on the organization of the Data (Registers and their datas such as Pitch, pointers ...) in the Hoot's 'driver Work'.

I would like helping, a guy named 'Kannagi', who would like created a Wiki for futur Retrodev. on Arcade systems such as CPS 1, CPs-2, PGM/IGS (the sound
Chip ICS2115 32 Channel PCM is not supported by Hoot and the VGM Logger).

Kannagi research contributors who could help him for this project (tools developper, ASM and C programmers, musicians, graphic designers... tech Notes/ specifications )

I would like ripping samples (with their original datas: The Okidata ADPCM / raw pcm)

somes informations
ex : http://www.mirari.fr/Yh0F (S1945_Plus-PITCH.PNG)
http://www.mirari.fr/2Gj5 (Blazing-PITCH.PNG)
https://github.com/freem/freemlib-neoge ... d/hoot.txt

I also search for Encoder / Decoder for Encoder/Decoder (more easy to find on the Net) for soundchip MSM6258 and MSM6295 ,Q-sound and also ICS2115 32 Channel PCM, to create original samples for future creations on these systems arcades...

Try using vgm2txt instead... It shows each register write with a time stamp.

For PGM/IGS stuff, check out pgm2xm. The music is just 8-channel MODs using a custom packer.
