The BIOS of the Family Computer Disk System is a special software that manage the Disk System functions, as well to check if the game is licensed by Nintendo or not. Without a disk inserted, there is a playing tune. As long you don't insert a disk, the BIOS shows some animations of the Mario Bros., switching the "lights" On or Off.
