Namco ASIC designations are sometimes prefixed with C (later) or CUS (earlier). The commonly used name is enclosed in parenthesis.

  • Namco WSG - 3 voice mono wavetable chip. (discrete, no VGM support)
  • Namco 15 (WSG, 15xx) - 8 voice mono wavetable chip. (no VGM support)
  • Namco 30 (WSG, CUS30) - 8 voice stereo wavetable chip. (no VGM support)
  • Namco 140 (C140) - 24 voice stereo PCM chip. (supported since VGM 1.61)
  • Namco 163 (N163 or N106) - NES mapper, contains an 8 voice wavetable synthesizer. (no VGM support)
  • Namco 219 (C219) - 16 voice stereo C140 deriative. (partial support since VGM 1.61)
  • Namco 352 (C352) - 32 voice 4 channel surround PCM (supported since VGM 1.71)
