No. The YM2151 is an 8-channel FM chip, and it was available for the Sharp X1 as an expansion card (the Sharp CZ-8BS1). (It may have been integrated into later models?) It's the same chip that was later integrated into the X68000, and is also found in many arcade games. As far as I know the YM2203 was never used in a Sharp machine?mlavengood wrote:wondering if this sound chip info is right? from what I can tell YM2151 or 2149 are both four-channel (three tone and one noise) and this clearly has 6 channels. maybe YM 2203?
(There IS a YM2203 version of Sorcerian, and that is the original PC-8801 version. That version, and its YM2608 counterpart, has yet to be ripped.)

haha I don't know how I got that mixed up, in retrospect. thanks.
This is maybe getting a bit afield since this is a forum for the vgm file and not Audio Overload, but—I'm playing this in AO—I can mute three of the tracks as AY8910 tracks but the rest keep playing even with every channel muted. Any idea what that's about?
