You mean, that you're running the game in DOSBox (i guess?) and capture the RAW datas ?
In fact, in an other game : Michael Jordan in Flight, there are KMS files too, and I didn't manage to all of them (and renaming/swap filenames doesn't work).

VGM is an audio log format used by several emulators. VGM supports a multitude of sound chips, which makes the original music format of the game irrelevant.
