What does this mean?
Did you copy the PC-98 files over and made them play on the FM Towns somehow?

Or do you mean that the FM Towns version uses the same songs as the PC-98, just with different instruments due to the different hardware?

FM Towns has a dedicated IF game for this platform. It has almost the same melody, but the instruments are slightly different; I simply used the exact same GD3 tags as the PC98. The FM instruments have been optimized for better sound, and the SSG square wave is implemented using an FM sine wave or an FM analog square wave.

Of course, I also have an X68K version of the IF music pack, but that's likely a custom-made MDX track.

I haven't heard this one before. It sounds like it uses three sine waves instead of a square wave; you could add that in. Of course, the square wave version is also very good, so I don't recommend deleting it.
