NRTDRV Demo Songs

The NRTDRV demo song comes from
nrtdrv.sakura.ne.jp.
NRTDRV is an OPM+PSG driver for
the SHARP X1 series
and a cross MML compiler for Windows.
Simultaneous playback of
16 FM sound sources + 3 PSG sounds
is supported by using
an FM sound source board
with changed I/O port addresses.

Since MAME does not support
the extended hardware of SHARP X1,
I asked the MAME developer to adapt
the JMB-X1 sound card,
which allows PC-8801 to use NRTDRV88J
to play NRTDRV tracks.
About a year ago I tried using aslplay
to automatically record these music
to s98 and convert them to vgm,
but the resolution of s98 is too low,
which created a lot of problems,
so I made up my mind to use MAME
to record all the tracks,
currently. These tracks are
precisely recorded in vgm format.

The characteristic of these music is
the use of two YM2151,
which is the biggest feature.
Because almost no other driver does this.
On the other hand, many tracks use CSM,
which allows the YM2151 to produce
very rough vocals,
such as "Perfume - Electro World".
Although I can't understand Japanese,
the melodies of these tracks are
still refreshing, and they sound like
J-POP or Japanese anime songs.

Track names and order are derived
from nrtdrv.sakura.ne.jp
I also wrote the Japanese title in the VGM Tag.
English track titles use Google Translate.
This pack was made using MAME0248 VGM Mod.
